Could Your Home be Contributing to Your Illness?

By: Janet Hall

I am often asked what to do if my client suspects that their home is a danger to their health, or at least contributing to their health problems. I often referred them to a company who would perform testing to find mold or fungus inside their home. This testing would be expensive and would sometimes come back negative even though my client had previously had water leaks in their home. The person would have persistent symptoms of mold or fungal infection in the respiratory tract which mimic chronic asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinus infections, etc. The symptoms would improve when the person left the home on trips or to work. Then when they return home the symptoms would return strong. There could possibly be a chemical that was used in the home prior to their moving in that still could be harming their health. Chemicals won't show up on a mold test, neither will bacteria. This problem can be fixed with or without expensive testing. This persons home could be filled with chemicals, bacteria, dust mites, fungus or mold. All of which could be effecting their health negatively.

Bacteria usually cause very bad odors in the home. Bacteria can be air borne so when you smell the foul odor chances are your also inhaling bacteria. This can settle in the sinuses, ears, eyes and lungs creating infections, usually producing green mucous, pain, swelling.

Fungus/Mold can sometimes be seen on the carpet or walls where liquid has been spilled/leaked. The great majority of the time it is in the walls, carpet, ceiling and air ducts. So it can't be seen, yet every time you vacuum or turn on your air conditioner your throwing billions of particles into the air which also can settle into your sinuses, lungs, ears and eyes, etc,.

Chemicals that are used in production of our furniture, carpet and wall paint, can linger in our houses for years causing problems not only in the lungs but also in the liver, brain, kidneys and heart. Sometimes the chemicals are so faint that our nose's don't even pick them up, but our animals sure smell them. New carpet and furniture can out gas Formaldehyde (and other chemicals) a known carcinogen for several years. Cigarette smoke contains over 2000 chemicals that do not leave your home even after the smoke clears. If you can smell cigarette smoke, you are inhaling chemicals.

Rodents such as mice or rats can carry parasites, bacteria and viruses such as the Haunta Virus.

This virus can be fatal to humans. Cats and dogs catch and eat mice infecting themselves with a wide array of nasty little critters, making them very sick.

So what can you do if you suspect there is a problem in your home? Like I mentioned earlier you could have the testing done to try to pinpoint the problem or you could call me. You don't need to have expensive testing that may or may not show there is a problem, just fix it and feel better! I have recently added to my companies list of services Residential, Commercial and Vehicle High Shock Ozonation. I'll send out a trained technician, to Ozonate your property. Ozone has been tested by the EPA which certified that it killed 99.99% of all viruses, bacteria, fungus and mold in a matter of 5-25 minutes. These high shock treatments will neutralize/oxidize harmful chemicals, bad odors (cigarette smells), and afterward your House/Office or Car/RV/Truck will smell like a fresh rain storm has just moved thru. Once the problem is gone you'll have a much faster recovery from environmental sensitivities, asthma, bronchitis and other chronic conditions. Ozone also kills rodents, safely without chemicals that your animals or kids could get into. These treatments are affordable, they are safe, they are done professionally in just one day.
